Not a good night.
Tonight, the wife hung up on me. This is not something conducive to a long and healthy frame of mind . . . .. . for me. To her, she really couldn't care less, and had completely forgotten about it 2 hours later. Some other time, I'll get into how belittling I feel this is, and how she is convinced I am over-reacting. "Make a post in anger, and you'll make the best post you ever regret." (The truth probably lies someplace betwixt the 2 extremes)
So I head out for my midnight walk, and there's only a slight mist, and some great looking lightning in the clouds in 3 of the four cardinal directions. Perfect weather for a angry-man workout. I get to the track, and just finished the warm-up jogs, and am ready to head into a couple of nearly full-power sprints to really let it all out . .. . and the sky freaken opens up and starts pouring rain. Now, I would normally just take shelter under the stands until the rain lets up a bit, but lightning and big metal stands doesn't sound like a good idea (I'm angry, not suicidal), so I run away from the track to another part of the school with a little overhang and wait for 10 mins to see if the rains let up.
They don't cooperate, so now I jog to the Quick Mart, and am totally soaked, and discover that the rain has toasted my ipod. Fortunately, my cell phone still works, because now I'm angry enough to consider heading back over to the metal stands.
So I finish the run home, strip in the garage so I don't bring sopping wet clothes in the house, jump into the shower, and can't successfully dry off because it is so humid. Here I am now, nearly nekkid, typing at the world about my bad mood, while still sweaty after a shower and trying to not get the chair wet. (How's THAT for a visual? Don't you wish I had a web cam right about now?)
I'm planning on some retail therapy tomorrow to compensate. I wonder where I can get the best deal on a new ipod?

For an iPod, you might try Sam's or costco, if you're a member. I remember seeing some good prices at Sam's, but can't quote it to ya.
And as for the visual, thanks that was pretty funny!
