My new workout routine
So I've been a bit stressed lately (stuff I can't blog about, but nothing earth shattering). It hasn't been bad enough to start effecting my health or give me hives or anything like that (had that before, it sucked). But it has started to effect my habits. I started getting less and less exercise. I also started to go to bed at an earlier hour for a while.
I got to the point where I'd sometimes be in bed and out like a light at 10pm (which is pretty bizarre for me). Along with this, I started to wake up earlier as well, which was good and bad. I got some more stuff done in the morning, but I was even more tired in the evening, so I would go to bed earlier again. Blah. In addition to this, I've not been able to get many workouts in either. This is pretty disappointing because my workouts are very little about the body (I just do enough to sweat for half an hour, I don't really push myself like I used to when I was competitive). I workout for the opportunity to rejuvenate my mind. Kind of like meditation and prayer for the body, mind, and spirit at the same time.
Well, Thursday night I was pretty tired again, but couldn't get to sleep for the life of me. I laid there and rolled around and laid there and counted my breaths past 300 and laid there . . . you get the picture. So at about 1:30 I decided I wasn't getting anywhere, and I would go take a walk. I put on some shorts and walked the half-mile to Santa Rita high school. Did you know that they leave one of their gates to the main parking lot open at all times? Not only that, but from there you can get to their tennis courts and football stadium.
I spent the next hour on their track, enjoying the evening, singing my heart out, and praying for all I was worth. It was a blast! Two o-clock in the morning, and I'm taking laps around a football field with the sprinklers on. Ask anyone who's played football what the smell of wet grass elicits within them. It was great. I was all by myself, and I felt much better, and veritably floated back home, and fell asleep right away.
I had to get up the next morning and have a very long Friday of course, so when Friday night came, I went right back out there at midnight. And again last night. I'm planning to make this into quite the habit for as long as I am able. So if you want to talk to me, just come by the football field at Santa Rita High School around midnight for the foreseeable future (except for tonight of course, when I'll be at work, oh well).

I live in a not so nice place to do that kinda thing at night, but I totally dig it :)
I'm so jealous...I'm already past the point of being able to waddle on my treadmill. Exercise was one of the few things keeping me sane through this pregnancy, but I'm just too big and having too many aches and pains to manage now. A nighttime walk out under the sprinklers sounds so nice...even if I could manage it physically, though, I'd be screwed without a bathroom nearby. The joys of making more people...(Only one more week of this, with any luck!) Anyway, one of these times imagine me taking a lap out there with you and give that imaginary me a high five, eh?
Catalyst - The imaginary high-five was given last night at 12:03 AM. I hope you enjoyed it! :)
Or you could just call cell-to-cell. No minutes used that way you know.
